Air waybill

An airway bill (also known as an airbill or AWB) is a legal document used in the transport of goods by air. It serves as a contract between the shipper (usually the seller or exporter) and the carrier (airline or freight forwarder) that outlines the terms and conditions of the shipment.

The airway bill contains information such as the name and address of the shipper and consignee, the origin and destination of the shipment, a description of the goods being transported, and the weight and volume of the shipment. It also includes details about the cost of the shipment, the type of service being provided, and any special instructions or requirements for the shipment.

The airway bill serves as proof of shipment and delivery, and is an essential document for customs clearance and the release of the goods at the destination. It is usually issued by the carrier or its agent and is often sent electronically, though physical copies may also be used.
